2023 Tea & Drama

Signal Hill Chapter, NSDAR, To Host Afternoon Tea & Drama

Wednesday, October 18, 2023, and  in the Performing Arts Center at The Garlands of Barrington, 1000 Garlands Lane, Barrington.

Tickets are $55 per person. For more information and reservations, please contact millergal@sbcglobal.net.

This event will feature a boutique with Ten Thousand Villages – a fair trade company with gifts from around the world – lovely honey products from Belli Farms, and Vintage Flair Jewelry – an assortment of gently loved costume jewelry.

The boutique opens at 11:00 a.m. with Afternoon Tea served at 12:00 noon, followed by a drama presented by Martina Mathisen as “Louella Parsons & The Golden Age of Hollywood.”

Ms. Mathisen will present the scintillating stories and scandals of the actors, actresses, and studio moguls in Hollywood’s Golden Age. She portrays Louella Parsons, Hollywood's most dynamic and powerful gossip columnist. Called the Queen of Hollywood, Louella could make or break a career with a few taps of her typewriter. Attendees will be temporarily transported and transfixed to feel a part of the old Hollywood insider’s club.

Proceeds from the Afternoon Tea & Drama support 501(c) 3 charities like Lake Country Honor Flight, homeless veterans, active military, Lake County’s Dunn Museum, and other groups whose missions meet the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution’s criteria of education, historical preservation, patriotism, and conservation.

Sign up for our afteroon Tea!
