2023 Tea & Drama

 Signal Hill Chapter, NSDAR, held its annual “Afternoon of Tea and Drama” at The Garlands of Barrington, with a full house on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Wearing fancy hats, toasting with a cup of brewed tea and enjoying sweet and savories, attendees enjoyed a dramatic performance by Martina Mathison who portrayed Louella Parsons, the famous gossip columnist during the Golden Age of Hollywood. 

Madam Illinois State Regent Christina Bannon drew the winning bill from the teapot in the “Teapot Surprise” drawing, and eleven lucky winners were the recipients of drawings for the beautiful, wrapped gift baskets.

We extend our thanks to our generous Donors for their in-kind donations, all who donated the basket items, and expertise in wrapping and organizing the “Teapot Surprise.” Thanks also goes to our Vendors: Ten Thousand Villages of Glen Ellyn, IL, Karen Belli of Belli Farms Honey Products, and Our Own “Vintage Flair Jewelry.” Special thanks to The Garlands for hosting and displaying the “Missing Man/Woman Table.”

A special THANK YOU to the Afternoon Tea Committee who worked tirelessly to make this a memorable day for Signal Hill Chapter and our Guests: 2nd Vice Regent Mary Miller with her committee members Jane Laystrom, Ruth Groth, Kathy Boyle, Donna Cardwell, and Joyce Wright. 

All funds raised at this event will go to support NSDAR mission goals of education, historic preservation, patriotism, native Americans, and conservation.
